Daniel Moreno was born in Fort Hood, Texas, and moved to Big Spring, Texas, at the age of four. He has proudly called Big Spring home ever since. He attended Big Spring public schools and graduated from Big Spring High School. Daniel continued his education by earning an Associate of Science in General Studies from Howard College and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from the University of Texas Permian Basin.
Daniel is the proud father of his beautiful daughter, Delilah. He has been an active member of Family Faith Center since 2014, where he serves as a Youth Leader in the Preteens and Pursue Youth Ministry.
Before beginning his career in education, Daniel gained valuable experience in several professional roles, including serving on the Human Resources team at the West Texas Veterans Affairs and working as the Marketing Coordinator at Scenic Mountain Medical Center.
Daniel currently serves as a CTE Business teacher at his alma mater, Big Spring High School, where he has been teaching since 2021. In this role, he passionately teaches business and marketing courses. He has also taught Professional Communications, Lifetime Nutrition and Wellness, and ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages).
After two unsuccessful runs for City Council District 5 in 2019 and 2021, district realignment led Daniel to run for the District 6 seat in the May 2024 General Election. His perseverance paid off when he was sworn in on May 14, 2024, to represent District 6. His election reflects the trust and confidence his community places in him to advocate for their interests and concerns.
Daniel’s goals for the City of Big Spring include promoting transparent government, improving infrastructure, ensuring essential city services are adequately funded and staffed, attracting new businesses, and keeping taxes low to support the community’s economic well-being.
