Moss Lake Rules & Regulations
- Lake patrons must check in at the Moss Lake Store upon entry to the lake. All fees must be paid at the store in advance of your stay. If the store is closed, patrons should use the drop box located in the front of the store. Patrons must fill out all the requested information on the envelopes provided.
- Swimming is allowed only in the designated swimming areas. There is only one area on Moss Lake where swimming is permitted.
- Boats, jet skis, and wave runners are allowed. All State of Texas Laws apply to any vessel operating on Moss Creek Lake. Nothing may be towed or otherwise pulled behind a self contained skiing unit. Water skiing by means other than self contained units is prohibited except as may be specifically allowed by written contract executed by the authority of the City Council.
- The lake caretaker and his staff have the right to request your permit at any time to insure that all fees are paid. Lake personnel vehicles patrol the lake at any given time.
- No glass containers are allowed at Moss Creek Lake.
- Pets must be on a leash at all times.
- Keep all trash contained and disposed of in proper containers provided at every campsite, picnic and in the RV park area of Moss Creek Lake.
- The destruction of any living tree or shrub with in the limits of Moss Creek Lake is strictly prohibited.
- All campfires must be attended at all times and fully extinguished when not attended. This includes all barbecue pits that are used. DO not put hot coals in the trash cans at any time.
- The use of bicycles, automobiles, motor vehicles, and riding of horses must stay within the designated boundaries of Moss Creek Lake. All boundaries include main roads, parking areas, and authorized riding trails. No off-road climbing of hills will be tolerated. ATVs such as 4-wheelers, 3-wheelers, 2-wheel dirt bikes, and dune buggies are prohibited from being used on Moss Creek Lake property.
- The paintball course will operate only when the area is open and supervised. Paintball markers or other devices used for the play of paintball may not be used or fired in any other area of the lake. Normal operating hours will be from 9 a.m. to dusk, Saturday and Sunday. Other hours will be designated when lake caretaker deems the area to be open for play. In the event a match cannot be supervised, the field will be closed to play. All players must have a signed and dated Acknowledgment of Course Rules and waiver on file with the lakes caretaker before they will be allowed to play. Participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign the form. Signature must be witnessed by the lake staff. This acknowledgement will remain valid for one calendar year and kept on file in the lake concession area. The lake caretaker or staff may, at anytime, request identification to ensure that a person has a signed acknowledgement on file. Anyone found to be in the paintball course when closed shall be subject to penalties.
- The Dirt Bike Course will be open from 7 a.m. to dusk, Monday through Sunday. No riding of an ATV, motor cross or Enduro style vehicles is allowed in any other area of the lake. Anyone found to be in or on the course outside of the designated hours listed or driving or riding any ATV, Motor Cross or Enduro style vehicle in any area of the lake other than the Dirt Bike Course, shall be subject to penalties.
- Patrons who are camping and/or using an RV hook-up and choose to stay past noon the next day are required to pay an additional camping/RV fee. Patrons may also obtain a vehicle permit for $3 per vehicle if you plan to leave before 10 p.m.
- Permit and entry fees will be strongly enforced. Failure to pay proper permit fees can result in a citation being issued and upon lawful conviction thereof, patrons shall be subject to a fine not to exceed $200 for each offense. Patrons who have visitors during their stay at Moss Creek Lake must understand that their fee does not cover visitors. Visitors are subject to all permit fees and must follow the same rules.
