CITY OF BIG SPRING WATER RESTRICTIONS
MANDATORY WATER RESTRICTIONS
In order to achieve a 28% reduction in water usage, the City of Big Spring has adopted the following restrictions which are in effect as of Sunday, April 1, 2012.
DESIGNATION OF WATERING DAYS
Residential customers whose address ends in an odd number will be allowed to water for a two (2) hour period on Tuesdays between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.
Residential customers whose address ends in an even number will be allowed to water for a two (2) hour period on Thursdays between the hours of 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.
Commercial establishments will be allowed to water for a two (2) hour period on Wednesdays from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.
** Wasting of water is strictly prohibited at all times.
ADDITIONAL RESTRICTIONS
- Vehicles can only be washed at commercial (including mobile) car wash establishments.
- Wading pools, fish ponds and fountains can be filled during the allotted watering schedule only.
- Swimming pools and Jacuzzis can be filled between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m. only.
- No outside watering is allowed except on the days and times designated above, EXCEPT potted plants and flowerbeds which can be watered on any day, between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. using a watering can of five (5) gallons or less. (No water hoses)
- Washing of houses, decks, sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, etc. is strictly prohibited.
- Citations WILL BE ISSUED for violations of these restrictions.
